How RideSwift handles information

Last updated: 27 September 2026

1. Purpose

This policy explains the types of information RideSwift may collect and use when people create accounts, request or provide rides, communicate through the platform, make or receive payments, or contact support.

2. Information we may collect

  • Account information such as name, email address and phone number.
  • Driver and vehicle information needed for registration, verification, approval and ride operations.
  • Ride information such as pickup, destination, trip status, timestamps and related service information.
  • Payment-related information needed to process or record supported payment transactions. RideSwift should not request a user's PIN or password for a mobile-money transaction.
  • Messages, support requests, missing-property reports and other information voluntarily submitted through the platform.
  • Technical information needed to operate and secure the website, such as device/browser information, logs and authentication tokens.

3. How information is used

Information may be used to create and secure accounts, match passengers and drivers, coordinate rides, process payments, communicate service updates, support customer service, investigate complaints and missing-property reports, maintain platform security, prevent misuse, and improve the service.

4. Location information

RideSwift may use location information when it is necessary for ride booking, driver matching, navigation or live trip tracking. Users can control device-level location permissions. Some features may not function fully when location access is disabled.

5. Sharing information

Ride information may be shared between the passenger and driver when necessary to provide the requested service. Information may also be disclosed to service providers or authorities where reasonably necessary to operate the platform, process transactions, protect users, investigate suspected misuse, comply with legal obligations, or resolve disputes.

6. Security

RideSwift uses reasonable technical and organisational measures intended to protect information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or loss. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so users should protect their passwords, device access and authentication information.

7. Retention

Information may be retained for as long as reasonably necessary for account operation, ride records, financial reconciliation, safety, dispute resolution, security, legal compliance and legitimate business purposes.

8. User choices and requests

Users may contact RideSwift through the support channels made available in the platform to ask about their information, request corrections, or raise a privacy concern. Some records may need to be retained where required for security, legal, accounting or operational reasons.

9. Children

The service is intended for users who are legally able to enter into the applicable agreement and use transportation services. RideSwift does not knowingly design the service for children who cannot lawfully use it.

10. Policy changes

RideSwift may update this policy as the platform, services or legal requirements change. The updated version will be published through the platform with a revised date.

Important: This policy is a platform policy document, not legal advice. The final published version should be reviewed against RideSwift's actual operating structure and applicable Zambian privacy and consumer requirements.
